Benazir Taleemi Wazaif
Benazir Taleemi Wazaif is a Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) program that was initiated in 2012 by the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) to provide financial assistance to the children of BISP beneficiaries for their education up to the higher secondary level.
The program aims to increase school enrollment and attendance rates, and to reduce the dropout rate among children from poor families.
To be eligible for the program, children must be:
- Beneficiaries of BISP
- Enrolled in a school
- Attending school regularly
Beneficiaries of the program receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 1,500 for primary school students, Rs. 2,500 for secondary school students, and Rs. 3,500 for higher secondary school students.
The program has been very successful in increasing school enrollment and attendance rates among children from poor families. In the first year of the program, school enrollment rates among BISP beneficiaries increased by 10%.
