Promotion of Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff in Punjab, Pakistan
The Directorate of Public Instruction (S.E) Punjab, Lahore has issued a letter to all Chief Executive Officers (DEA) in the Punjab, directing them to convene a meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) before 29.04.2023 to consider the promotion of teaching and non-teaching staff.
The letter states that the promotion process of teaching staff from PST to EST, EST to SST and promotion of non-teaching staff (Ministerial staff) from Class-IV to Junior Clerk under 20% in-service quota, Junior Clerk to Senior Clerk and Senior Clerk to Assistant is very slow in all over the Punjab province. The letter further states that the concerned authorities are not showing keen interest in the promotion of teaching and Non teaching staff of their respective Districts.
The letter directs the Chief Executive Officers (DEA) to convene a meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) before 29.04.2023 positively and to submit a request for nomination of Departmental Representative to School Education Department for subject matter by 20.04.2023 under intimation to this Directorate to proceed further.
This is a good step by the Directorate of Public Instruction (S.E) Punjab, Lahore to expedite the promotion process of teaching and non-teaching staff in the province. It is hoped that the concerned authorities will take necessary steps to ensure that the promotion process is completed in a timely manner.
